At the gee gees.

Greetings from Royal Ascot, home of thoroughbreds; high fashion and titfers galore. A day for dressing up; parading; people watching and hanging out with Her Majesty The Queen (sort of).

My red, white and blue racing silks are this kimono sleeved, chevron print midi wrap dress by Studio by Preen for Debenhams and my saucer-like hat with chevron edging and flowers, a beautiful Oxfam find by Luton milliners Whiteley. My hair (my own handiwork) is worn off my face, in a side bun to add balance and for the first ever year I chose to wear flats, why has it only taken me 30 years to work this out?

Hat wearing tip: don't have clean hair, mine was 3 days not washed (I know) and Elnetted to the max, this way everything stays in place, clean fly-away hair is not your friend on such an occasion, unless you travel with a hairdresser in tow, in which case can we hang out?
