If I was to close my eyes and create a garment it would be thus: collar; 3/4 sleeve that I can undo and roll up; concealed side pockets; waist defining belt; button fronted; a dense cotton; abstract print and hip skimming just-below-the-knee length. Yep, that would be my wish list, for the shirt dress offers so many wearable options: as a summer frock with flats; worn with opaques and a fine knit for cooler days; over jeans; undone/done up; casual or not so casual; over wide skimming trousers; with trainers; with heels.... am I winning you over? Just get one, or 10, the high street are flooded with them. But just do it.
